Happy Tactic Documentation

Happy Tactic is a carrier-verification and transportation-management platform for freight brokers — one system from “is this carrier legit?” to “the load is delivered and invoiced.” These pages cover both sides: using the software, and integrating it with your own systems.

API quick start

1. In the app, go to Settings → API Keys, create a key, and copy it (shown once). Leave “Allow write access” unchecked unless this integration will create or update data.

2. Verify it works:

terminal
curl -H "Authorization: Bearer hkpt_your_key_here" \
  https://api.happytactic.com/api/v1/ping

3. Pull your first data — approved carriers, say:

terminal
curl -H "Authorization: Bearer hkpt_your_key_here" \
  "https://api.happytactic.com/api/v1/carriers?verifiedOnly=true"
Keys act as the user who created them and only ever see that workspace’s data. Write endpoints additionally require the write scope — details in the API Reference.

Integration patterns

Reporting & BI

Read-only key on a schedule. Sync verifications (decisions, Trust scores), carriers, and loads into your warehouse — use updatedAfter and status filters for incremental pulls.

TMS / ERP integration

Write key. Create loads from your order system, move them through the validated status lifecycle, and forward tracking positions as check calls — Happy Tactic stays the operational source of truth.

Carrier vetting in your tools

Read-only key. Look up a carrier’s verification status, decision, and change-log signals from inside your own dispatch tooling before you commit a load.

Most verifications start in the app, and your systems consume the results via the API. A key with the “Create and start verifications” permission (company admins only) can also start them from your systems or your AI assistant — each one uses a verification credit.

Using Claude or ChatGPT? Connect it to your account with the same key — see AI assistants.

Support

Questions, a stuck integration, or an endpoint you wish existed? Use Help & Support in the app — it reaches the Happy Tactic team directly. The API grows in the direction clients pull it.
